Santa Fe Springs, Calif. (May, 2009) – From split-bumper ’70 Z28s to low-slung “Bandit” Trans Ams, second generation F-Bodies are storming the muscle car scene, thanks to a plentiful supply of inexpensive cars that are easily modified for serious performance. Now you can dramatically improve the overall handling, high-speed stability and tire adhesion of any 1970-81 Camaro, Firebird or Trans-Am with new Geometry-Corrected Upper and Lower Tubular A-Arms from Hotchkis.
Designed for easy bolt-on installation and track-dominating performance, Hotchkis Upper Tubular A-Arms increase caster for improved high speed stability and camber gain during turning, thereby increasing front tire traction for maximum driving performance. A 4130 Chromoly offset billet cross shaft creates increased static negative camber without a large alignment shim stack, improving overall alignment and creating added clearance for headers. The arms are fabricated from fully TIG welded1.25-inch tubular steel, come with pre-installed upper ball joints, smooth operating Delrin bushings and Polyurethane droop stops.
Hotchkis Tubular Lower A-Arms for the 2nd Gen F-Body use new, race-proven geometry that repositions the ball joints for increased caster and an improved camber curve. Adjustable spring shims allow you to fine-tune ride, and Delrin bushings allow the arms to move smoothly throughout the travel arc. Like Hotchkis Upper A-Arms, they are fully gusseted and TIG welded for maximum strength and come ready to install complete with ball joints, height shims, bump stops and Polyurethane coil spring locators.
Like all Hotchkis Performance suspension products, 2nd Gen F-Body Tubular A-Arms are finished in durable gloss black powdercoat and are designed, tested and manufactured in the USA using the best materials available.
